Pour It: a water level guessing game

A new glass, the same drink. Look at the liquid on the left, guess how high it will reach on the right, then watch the pour. Five rounds put your eye for volume to the test.

How to play Pour It

  1. Compare the vessels. Both are drawn to the same scale. The whole drink on the left will go into the empty vessel on the right.
  2. Set the dashed line. Drag up or down anywhere on the scene. You can also tap a level inside the receiving glass. Short bowls use a longer drag so small adjustments are easier.
  3. Press the check to pour. Your first checked guess is locked. Watch the drink approach your line and see how far off you were.
  4. Finish five pours. Each round earns up to 100 points. Compare all five glasses at the end, share your score or play a fresh set.

On a keyboard, use the arrow keys for small adjustments, Shift for larger ones, Home or End for the bottom or top, and Enter to pour. There is no timer.

Look at the whole shape

A wide bowl needs more liquid for each extra millimetre near its rim. A narrow neck rises quickly. Tall stems and thick solid bases do not hold any drink. The illustrations and answers use the same inside profile, with no hidden change of scale between the two vessels.

Scoring

Five pours add up to 500 points. Smaller water-level errors earn more points, and a very close guess gets a Perfect pour. The tolerance follows the glass's inside height, with a minimum nine-centimetre span so shallow bowls stay comfortable to play. The reveal also shows the physical miss in millimetres.

Daily and Unlimited

Daily gives everyone on the same calendar date the same five pours. It changes at local midnight and keeps your progress and finished score in this browser. Unlimited gives you another set whenever you want one. Switching modes keeps each unfinished set in place; refreshing Unlimited starts fresh.

Questions about Pour It

Does the drink ever spill?

No. Every generated pour fits inside the receiving vessel, so your task is to judge the final level.

Are the vessels drawn to the same scale?

Yes. A centimetre uses the same drawing scale for both vessels in a round. The rules use the inside shape, excluding stems and solid bases.

Can a friend play my exact rounds?

The Share button includes a link to the same Daily or the same five Unlimited pours. The text and optional image show your scores without revealing the correct levels.

Will my progress survive a refresh?

Daily saves checked answers and your current line in browser storage. If storage is blocked, the game still works but cannot keep progress after you leave. Unlimited starts a fresh set on refresh.

Is Pour It free?

Yes. It runs in your browser without an account or download.
