Sand Fill

Make room. Let it flow.

Sand Fill

A crowded sand table, a few jars of colored sand, and trays that need to get under the right spout. Slide, make room, let it pour.

How to play

  1. Look at the bottom of each jar. That color pours first. The colored mark in the table's rim shows it too.
  2. Slide a tray of that color into the spout's mouth, the top row right under it. Sand starts falling as soon as it lines up.
  3. A full tray lifts away and leaves its space free. Use the gap to move the others.
  4. Clear all the trays to finish the puzzle. Five puzzles make a set.

The table starts crowded on purpose: the tray you need is usually boxed in, so the puzzle is working out which trays to park where, and in what order. A tray of the wrong color under a spout simply waits, and the spout gives a small shake to tell you.

Each drag is one move. Your result compares the five-puzzle total with par, a reference target to aim for or beat. There is no timer, and the circular arrow at the top restarts the current puzzle.

With a keyboard, Tab to a tray and use the arrow keys. Presses on the same tray in a row count as one move.

Tips

Daily and Unlimited

Daily has the same five puzzles for everyone on the same date, from an easy warm-up to two harder tables, with a new set at local midnight. An unfinished Daily stays in this browser when storage is available. Unlimited deals another five whenever you play again, preferring tables you have not seen recently.

Questions

What is Sand Fill?

A sliding-block puzzle with sand. Jars of colored sand pour into trays of the same color, but the table is crowded, so you slide trays around to make room before each one can reach its spout.

Why is nothing pouring?

The tray must sit in the top row, right under the spout, and its color must match the color at the bottom of that jar. If the jar is pouring another color first, that tray has to wait its turn.

How is the score worked out?

Every drag is one move. Your result is the total for five puzzles, compared with a reference target called par. Match it for a tidy run, or find a way to finish under par.

Can I get stuck?

Every puzzle is checked by a solver before it is used, and sand is never wasted: a tray keeps what it has. If a table feels tangled, the circular arrow restarts just that puzzle.

Can I play more than once a day?

Yes. Daily has one shared set for the date; Unlimited deals another five whenever you press Play again.

Is it free on phones and computers?

Yes. Drag with a finger or a mouse, or use the keyboard. Nothing to install and no account.
